National Love Your Pet Day: February 20

National Love Your Pet Day is an unofficial holiday that’s celebrated annually on February 20th. Pets show us unconditional love each and every day so why not have a holiday that encourages pet owners to spend quality time with their pets to show them the love and affection they deserve.

Cat, dog, bird, fish or reptile, National Love Your Pet Day is the day to do something special to show them how much they mean to you. Here are four simple ways to do it.
Four Ways to Celebrate National Love Your Pet Day

Give Them Special Toys
Pets love to play. Surprise your pet by making them a special toy out of an old t-shirt or socks or taking them shopping for toys at the local pet store. If you’re looking for a new collar or leash or maybe a sweater to survive this fridge winter, take a look at The Sudsy Puppy.

Bake Some Homemade Treats
Nothing says I love you like homemade pet treats. Make treats with pet-friendly ingredients that are the flavors of their favorite foods, and let them go to town! From frozen or baked treats to bones, and pet cakes and cupcakes, you can make your pet feel special all year round. Best of all, you know exactly what’s going into their treats – quality ingredients and lots of love. It’s always a good idea to consult your veterinarian before making treats!

Schedule a Spaw Day
Give your pet the full ‘spaw’ treatment! A day of grooming and pampering by a trained pet stylist will leave your pet looking and smelling their best.

Spotlight Your Pet on Social Media

Share the love – post a pic or video of your pet online to show the world why they’re so special, goofy, or just plain adorable. Posting a photo of you and your pet is a wonderful way to make a memory of National Love Your Pet Day. Be sure to use the hashtag #NationalLoveYourPetDay

These are just a few of the ways to show your pet how much you love them on National Love Your Pet Day. If your pets are anything like mine, it’s National Love Your Pet Day every day at my house!
