Looking for something fun to do this spring once Maryland has thawed out? We know many of our clients are eager to get out and about with their dogs, taking long walks in the fresh spring air.
There are so many great places to check out with your pets, we’ve talked before about great community parks. We know some of you have favorite spots that are maybe a little more quiet, or have a dog or two that you know well and your dog gets along with.
But if you’re looking for something a little bigger, you might look ahead to the weekend of April 11-12. Maryland has a couple of great events going on that weekend.
April 11-12, the fourth annual Maryland Dog Fest will be taking place on the Charles County Fairgrounds. This festival will have exhibitors of all kinds, and friendly dogs on leashes are of course invited. It will be a great place to get out, bring your dog, and learn all about different services and products for your pets.
April 12 in Frederick will be the Fast and Furriest 5k. This race is held for Operation Paws for Homes, Inc., an organization that rescues pets from mostly southern states. According to the website, the funds raised will be used to provide for the medical needs of the rescued dogs. It looks like a good time!
Last, but not least, April 11 is the Chesapeake Bay Trust’s 5k to the Bay. This race will take place in Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. It is close to home for many of our clients, and even better, it is an event that Tails on Trails has chosen to support. Leashed, friendly pets are welcome. Come find the Tails on Trails family both in the race or at our table!
Keep an eye out for fun event posts throughout the spring and summer!
