Dog Walking Staff Picnic

Tails on Trails is an interesting place to work. Many of our dog walkers and pet sitters are animal lovers who have much in common, but rarely see one another. Although each regional area is split into teams that work together to solve problems and share tips for their areas, most of our dog walkers and pet sitters complete their jobs independently day to day.

That is why we think it’s so important to find the opportunity to give our dog walkers and pet sitters the opportunity to get to know one another and build friendships whenever possible. This weekend we had our first ever annual picnic and it was a hit! Dog walkers and pet sitters from all of our regions–Odenton, Crofton, Annapolis, Glen Burnie, Pasadena, and more joined us.

We had some delicious food–many thanks to the office staff for arranging it! Over our meals we got to know not only one another, but also one another’s pets–many dogs were on hand to enjoy the beautiful weather at Downs Park as well.

Because the owner of our company, Michelle believes strongly in the importance of team building, we rarely get together without a competition of some sort. At the picnic we had some fun playing trivia related to animals and the Tails on Trails staff. Did you know dogs have 42 teeth on average? And cats have 30? If you did, you could have helped the teams as they competed for some pretty nice gift cards!

Dog Walking Staff Building Games

We also had lots of fun games like cornhole and volleyball to choose from for our activities. Overall, it was a beautiful day and a wonderful opportunity to get to know our amazing dog walkers and pet sitters from across the many different parts of Anne Arundel county better!
